The Early Stage Reasercher (ESR) for this research topic is Marion Level.
Hi, my name is Marion, I am 23 and I come from France !
I always been attracted by natural sciences so I decided to study agronomy at University. I started with a technician school (IUT : Institut Universitaire Technologique) in Nancy where I discovered for the first time the ecotoxicology.
In 2017, I had the chance to do an internship at the aquatic animal facility of the Institut of Biology Paris Seine where I found a strong interest in aquatic ecosystem.
Then I decided to pursue my studies by enrolling in an agronomic engineering school in Nancy (ENSAIA : Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie et d'Industrie Alimentaire) with the aim to be train in aquatic ecotoxicology research.
In September 2020 I received a double diploma ; one from the engineering school and an other one from the Molecular Biology Master.
Determined to develop my knowledges in aquatic ecotoxicology, I am really happy to be part of the PANORAMA project by carrying out a PhD on "Toxicokinetics and Toxicodynamics of Lanthanides in aquatic organisms".
This Early Stage Researcher will be hosted in Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Haw Hamburg) and supervised by Susanne Heise (Haw Hamburg) and Andrew Hursthouse (University of the West of Scotland).
The topic of this research concerns the Toxicokinetic and Toxicodynamic of Lanthanides in aquatic organisms. The aim is to perform the first draft of a biotic ligand model by studying REE uptake, transport, excretion in and the biological effect on aquatic organisms as a function of the environmental parameters.
Four secondments are planned:
Jacob University Bremen (one month): REE analysis;
SCK•CEN (two months): speciation modelling;
Synchrotron Soleil (twice, one month): XRF micro-imaging;
Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (three months): tests with sea urchin early life stages.
The researcher will be enrolled in a Doctoral degree in the University of the West of Scotland.
